Availability Scores
Availability scores are a new dynamic metric to assess how many games a player will likely be available for in a given season. Knowing the availability scores for each player on your team will allow managers to understand the trade offs between having a strong starting team versus a very deep team. Players with weaker availability scores will be more likely to miss games through out the season.
How are availabilities scores calculated? They are based on proprietary regression models on public matches, and use information such as the players age and their position along with key biological features and medical history. Based on these model we are able to predict how likely a player is to play a full season, and how many games they are likely to be unavailable. Further improvements might allow us to give good warning signs in terms of when to rest a given player.
